Sunrise Child Care is an inclusive childcare program, providing responsive childcare based on holistic play-based goals. For best practice purpose implements Flight Alberta Early Learning and Care Framework curriculum and the program philosophy and practices are connected to the Principles and Matters to be Considered stated in the Early Learning and Childcare Act.
Sunrise is committed to accommodating children starting at a very young age (12 months old and up to 6 years) regardless of intellectual, emotional, linguistic, religious, or other differences and conditions in a facility that promotes learning together for mutual benefit for all. As a multicultural center, we recognize and respect differences among all learners. We welcome and celebrate diversity and we are ready to face challenges to grow and develop together into valuable members of the community. To achieve these goals, we provide children with engaging, meaningful, and intentionally planned activities and learning opportunities as well as a diverse range of toys and equipment for free and organized play. Furthermore, we strongly believe in the value of interactions among children and create many opportunities for socialization and cooperation among children, both in small and large group experiences. Our vision is to create a place of vitality, an active strong and energetic community where children are respected, feel secure and are accepted for the individuals they are within a responsive environment. We actively encourage children to play and fully participate during their time at the center to provide them with possibilities for their physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development. Finally, the physical, mental, and emotional safety of every child is the primary importance to us. To ensure their safety and well-being, we strive for the highest standard of care as it relates to their physical safety, health, supervision, and protection in a mentally and emotionally nurturing environment. All operational aspects of our center reflect these goals while they meet standards of health and safety regulations to the operational aspects related to the provision.
